Toss: West Indies opt to bat vs Pakistan
West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first in Multan in the second Test of the series, with Pakistan leading 1-0 after their victory in the first Test. West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite had no hesitation in choosing to bat on what appears to be a fragile surface, as both teams expressed a desire to avoid batting last.
Unlike the first Test, where the toss was delayed by four hours due to foggy conditions, the weather in Multan is now clear and sunny. West Indies made two changes to their lineup: Kemar Roach returned to replace Jayden Seales, who is sidelined with a leg niggle, while debutant wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo stepped in for Keacy Carty, who was benched.
Pakistan, aiming to secure consecutive home series wins for the first time in nearly four years, made just one change. Fast bowler Kashif Ali received his maiden cap, replacing Khurram Shahzad, who bowled only one over in the first Test.
Pakistan XI: Shan Masood (capt), Muhammad Hurraira, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Salman Agha, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Kashif Ali.
West Indies XI: Kraigg Brathwaite (capt), Mikyle Louis, Amir Jangoo, Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach (wk), Gudakesh Motie, Kevin Sinclair, Jomel Warrican, Kemar Roach.
