In his first G League game since December 21, Bronny James shined with a career-high 31 points, propelling the South Bay Lakers to a 122-110 win over the Rip City Remix. James shot 10-of-22 from the field, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, while adding three assists, two rebounds, and two steals in South Bay's second win of the season.
The highlight of the night was James’ electrifying game-tying poster dunk that brought all 623 fans in attendance to their feet. Late in the third quarter, James brought the ball up, maneuvered around a Christian Koloko screen, and drove down the lane for a thunderous dunk over Sterling Manley.
“It felt great, it’s a highlight reel,” James said of the play. “Not much you can say about that—it was just crazy.”
Fueled by James’ dunk, the Lakers closed the third quarter on a 9-4 run and maintained control throughout the fourth quarter.
Quincy Olivari chipped in with 20 points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Koloko added a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
